Butterfly Home

How Interbrand and Critical Mass are joining a decade-long mission to rescue and care for Nepal’s most vulnerable children.

Details

In Nepal, incarcerated mothers are forced to make a horrific choice: bring their children to prison, or turn them loose on the street. As a university student, Pushpa Basnet came face to face with Nepal’s imprisoned children and began a lifelong commitment to rescuing them and restoring their futures.

More than ten years on, Pushpa has rescued and cared for over 500 children and established Butterfly Home—a safe haven, learning center and surrogate family founded to support the education and growth of children both in and out of prison.

Butterfly Home runs on Pushpa’s passion as well as the generosity of donors from around the world, but to shore up that global support, Pushpa’s powerful story needs to be shared. To that end, Interbrand and Critical Mass teamed up to design a responsive site that would serve as a call to action and a digital context for Waiting for Mamu—a documentary film that chronicles Pushpa’s heroic story. Visitors to the site can learn how to host a screening while finding out more about Butterfly Home, the lives of rescued children, and how to donate.
